Jakub Petelewicz

historian, academic secretary of the Polish Center for Holocaust Research

Born 1975 in Lowicz; 1994-1999 M.A.historical studies at Warsaw University (Prof. Jerzy Tomaszewski); graduated 1999 at Warsaw University; 1997-1999 additional studies at Warsaw University Institute for Social Applied Sciences; PhD programme of the Warsaw University. Member  and academic secretary of Polish Center for Holocaust Research Institute of Philosophy and Sociology of the Polish Academy of Sciences; managing editor of Zaglada Zydow. Studia i Materialy (Holocaust Studies and Materials).

Research interests:

History and culture of the national minorities in modern Poland, with particular interest in the history of the Jews during the Holocaust period. He is currently involved in a study concerning the activities of Polish Police in General Government (s.c. Blue Poilice) and it’s involvement in the Shoah. He is interested also in Jewish Social Self-Help (Zydowska Samopomoc Spoleczna, JUS) in General Government.
